Application Process
Applications are no longer being accepted for the 2010 LeaderShape Institute at The University of Georgia. Thank you for your interest, and we hope to see your application next year!

What is the UGA LeaderShape® Institute? The University of Georgia LeaderShape® Institute will be held on May 10-15, 2010 and is an extensive, six-day leadership development experience introducing student participants to various aspects and issues relating to personal and group leadership, leading with integrity, and creating personal goals for the future. This is accomplished through a "leadership curriculum" that involves a combination of working in large groups, participating in smaller group discussions, individual reflection, and most of all, interactive activities/experiences. The LeaderShape® Institute will include a diverse group of students from all over campus representing numerous student groups, organizations, and interests.
What's in it for me? If chosen, you will receive valuable leadership training and skills that will benefit you during your college career and beyond. You will also have an opportunity to develop and implement a personal vision project intended to benefit a student organization, the campus, or community. Not only is this a great opportunity for you to have an incredible amount of interaction with fellow students and leaders, but you will also be involved with faculty and staff members from the University during the week. In addition, you will have a special opportunity to meet alumni, community, and business leaders from around the state. The LeaderShape® Institute costs nearly $1,000 per participant; however, almost all of this experience, as well as all materials, food, lodging, extras, and transportation to and from the site, is covered. There is a $100 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot at the Institute that will be due to the Center for Leadership & Service if you are selected. Your acceptance letter will indicate instructions on how to pay the fee.
Do I have to be at a certain class level or currently hold a leadership position on campus? No, the UGA LeaderShape® Institute is open to all UGA students, at all class levels, from any major area of study, and at any level of involvement, though consideration will be given to students who are not graduating and will return to campus to complete their degree. The only requirement is that you are enrolled full time at the University and are in good academic and social standing (i.e. not currently under any sanctions or probations). Also, participants will be expected to develop a "vision portfolio" or project that can be worked on and implemented in the future.
