Leadership & Service Living-Learning Community

Mission

The mission of the Leadership & Service LLC is to integrate residential, classroom, and co-curricular learning to developing a cohesive group of leaders devoted to improving themselves and the greater community.

Purpose & Vision

The purpose of the Leadership & Service Living-Learning Community is to provide a supportive environment for students to engage in the meaningful exploration of leadership and service at The University of Georgia.

Within this overarching framework, the Leadership & Service LLC Task Force envisions students achieving significant development in four domains:

  1. leadership capacity
  2. appreciation of and commitment to service-learning
  3. social mindedness and responsibility
  4. ability to draw connections between the curricular and co-curricular experience.

Overview

Students selected to participate in the Leadership & Service LLC will reside in the Reed Community for the corresponding year of participation. In addition to attending to residential programming within the Reed Community, individuals will also be enrolled in a sequence of leadership and service-learning courses, which will serve as the foundation for the LLC experience. Through the integration of residential, classroom, and co-curricular experiences, individuals will construct their own ethic of leadership and public service, and integrate these lessons into their lives.
